The Recording Academy has once again accepted Jamaican stars in the Best Global Music Performance category, while dancehall itself continues to operate without a dedicated Grammy category.
For 2026, a string of heavyweight Jamaican acts and collaborators are vying for recognition under Field 7 – Global Music.
Among the submissions is “You Remind Me” by DJ Khaled featuring an all-star dancehall lineup: Vybz Kartel, Buju Banton, Mavado, Bounty Killer, Rorystonelove, and Kaylan Arnold.
Kiprich also submitted “No More Crime” alongside Adrian Donsome Hanson. Meanwhile, Busy Signal joins forces with Major Lazer, Diplo, and Kybba on “Gangsta”, blurring the lines between EDM and dancehall in the category.
Mojo Morgan, Jemere Morgan, and Kelib Morgan on “By My Side”.From the new generation, Masicka submits “Whites” via Def Jam, highlighting his international ambitions and crossover appeal.
Regional entries are also present this year. Trinidadian soca king Machel Montano delivers with multiple entries, including “Fling It Up” featuring Davido and Pardy, and the Truth & Balance Remix with Ayetian, DJ MAC, and Ne-Yo. Caribbean representation broadens further with M1 aka Menace & Ted Ganung’s “First Time Caribbean Party.”
Rounding out the Jamaican charge are Protoje’s “Big 45,” Light & Love by A!Ms, Julian Marley, Anteaus, and Hypertone, Sizzla’s Nigerian collaboration, Blaqk Sheep’s “Tip Remix,” and the team-up of Skillibeng and Valiant on “Advantage” featuring Fridayy.
