TikTok and Billboard launch the ‘TikTok Billboard Top 50 Chart’ on Thursday September 14, 2023. The weekly chart will keep tabs on the most popular songs within the U.S. TikTok community, incorporating a blend of creations, video views, and user engagement.
In its debut, ‘SkeeYee’ by Sexyy Red takes the top spot, followed by Doja Cat’s ‘Paint the Town Red’ at No. 2 and Taylor Swift’s ‘august’ at No. 3. This partnership between TikTok and Billboard aims to showcase the music trends emerging on TikTok and their influence on digital streaming platforms and other services.
Notably, the chart also includes surprises like ‘Let It Whip’ by Dazz Band, a hit from 1982, as well as tracks from Zach Bryan, Tim McGraw, Charlie Wilson, and Pinegrove. TikTok users can easily access this chart within the app, and it will be updated weekly on Thursdays on Billboard.com.”
