Grammy-nominated Jamaican artist Devin Di Dakta continues his international rise with a major music placement in the latest Beats by Dre campaign starring Spanish football prodigy Lamine Yamal.
The ad, released just ahead of El Clásico, with the Barcelona star being announced as the brand’s new global ambassador, features Devin’s track “Bubble” at the one-minute mark, marking a proud moment for both the artist and Caribbean music culture on a global stage.
The song released in 2016—produced by Equinox and released under Equinox Music(Jim Screechie Riddim)—is a solo single, not part of a juggling rhythm, and showcases Devin’s distinct voice layered over an atmospheric beat that fits seamlessly into the ad’s cinematic vision.
“It’s amazing,” Devin told World Music Views. “From the moment the email came in and I saw Lamine’s name attached, it was a surreal feeling. He’s literally everywhere on the timeline.”
Lamine Yamal, not yet 18, is already a global sensation with over 30 million Instagram followers and now the youngest global ambassador for Beats by Dre. In the campaign’s launch video, he’s portrayed as the CEO of Beats, with his friend Morad joining in on the creative direction. The visual aesthetic—slick, aspirational, and youth-driven—mirrors Yamal’s own meteoric rise in football and social media influence.
Yamal now has his own playlist on Spotify after the streaming platform partnered with Barcelona recently.
The video’s direction and music supervision were handled by Beats’ in-house creative team, and the sync marks a key moment for Devin, who is celebrating 10 years as a professional recording artist since winning Magnum Kings and Queens of Dancehall in 2015.
Now focused on his debut full-length album, Devin shared that all tracks have been recorded and are currently in the mixing phase. “All the tracks are already recorded. It should be ready to soon,” he said.
