The 2019 bilingual song “Jambo” by Takagi & Ketra with vocals from Jamaican multi-platinum singer OMI has surpassed 100 million streams on Spotify. The Afrobeats song released by Columbia Records/Sony Music which also features addition vocals from Italian singer Giusy Ferreri got most os its streams in Italy and Switzerland where it peaked at No. 1 and 11 respectively.
“Jambo” is is the term uses in the popular African language Swahili for “hello”, a greeting addressed strictly with the smile of those who need nothing. The song produced by Takagi & Ketra’s at 130 bpm has also conquered YouTube world as the official music video for directed by Regia Gaetano Morbioli whcih was shot on location in Jamaican, Tanzania and Rwanda has surpassed 144 million views on YouTube.
The song is certified 4x Platinum in Italy (280,000) and Platinum in Switzerland (20,000).
