Jennifer Lopez announced the release date of her ninth studio album, “This Is Me…Now.” Scheduled for February 16, 2024, through Nuyorican/BMG, this marks her first full-length solo release in nearly a decade.
Her last album, 2014’s A.K.A., peaked at No. 8 on the Billboard 200 and was driven by the Billboard Hot 100-charting singles “I Luh Ya Papi,” “First Love” and “Booty.”
The forthcoming album, a sister to her third studio album released in 2002 “This Is Me…Then,” which was released at the height of her romance with Ben Affleck.
The album featured the single “Dear Ben” and Affleck even had a cameo in the “Jenny From the Block” music video which has surpassed 174 million views YouTube.
Lopez and Affleck rekindled their romance in 2021, after she and Alex Rodriguez split. Now she and Affleck got married in Las Vegas in July before having a wedding ceremony in October.
“I found the person that makes me the happiest I’ve ever been,” she says in a video on Instagram.
The new album is a collaboration with Rogét Chayed, Jeff “Gitty” Gitelman, HitBoy, and others. The first single, “Can’t Get Enough,” will debut on January 10, 2024, under her recording and publishing partnership with BMG.
Coinciding with the album release, “This Is Me…Now: The Film” will be globally available on Prime Video through Amazon MGM Studios. Directed by Dave Meyers and produced by Nuyorican Productions, the film offers a unique musical reimagining of Lopez’s love life, featuring her husband Ben Affleck. The credits include story contributions from Lopez, Meyers, and Chris Shafer, with production and executive production by a notable team. Cast details for the film are yet to be revealed.
