Grammy-nominated reggae sensation Jesse Royal has unveiled the official music video for his latest single, Your Soul. Released on November 22 via Easy Star Records, the track serves as the first single from his third studio album, slated for 2025.
Your Soul is an island-infused reggae groove that blends Jesse’s roots sound with a fresh, modern edge. Produced by Sean Alaric—known for crafting standout hits like LionOrder, Natty Pablo, and Dirty Money from Jesse’s Grammy-nominated ROYAL album—this new track channels the softer side of Jesse.
Speaking about the inspiration behind Your Soul, Jesse says, “It taps back into the playful side of love that sometimes gets lost, whether through past experiences or simply loving a lesson on your way to finding your actual blessing. Leaving your pride at the door means true vulnerability and openness to the present.”
In 2021, WMV Spoke exclusively with Jesse about ROYAL, which he described as his “most vulnerable” project yet with collaborations from Sean Paul and Vybz Kartel. “Sean dem create on such a high level,” Jesse said. “It made me go harder on the track,” he said.
On that album featured songs about fatherhood, fighting corruption, and unity. Jesse explained, “We continue to give the people us in every way, shape, and form.”
As a key figure in reggae’s modern revival, the Lilly Of The Valley artist believes the genre has untapped potential. “We’re making top-tier music that can stand up against anything in the world,” he said. With platforms like Spotify expanding to the Caribbean, Jesse sees new opportunities for reggae artists. “The more avenues for revenue and things to help develop the industry is a welcome thing,” he noted.
Now a proud father, Jesse shared how his daughter has changed his perspective. “She’s the joy of my life,” he said. “My daughter only calms down if I play Bill Withers.”
