As rapper XXXTentacion posthumously drops the new song “I’m Not Human,” featuring Lil Uzi Vert to commemorate the 5th anniversary of his death, his song “F*ck Love” featuring Trippie Redd is certified Diamond by the Recording Industry Association Of America (RIAA) on the same day (June 18, 2023). This is his second RIAA Diamond certification.
The song released August 24, 2017 on XXXtentacion’s debut solo album 17 has sold 10 million single equivalent units in the US according to the RIAA.
XXXTentacion, real name Jahseh Dwayne Ricardo is one of the most streamed artist in the world surpassing 27 billion streams on Spotify alone. Jamaican musician JonFX who worked closely with the artist across albums credits the continuous appeal to his diverse taste in music.
“He is actually like Kurt Cobain, he mostly discussed Rock N Roll,” FX told WMV. The veteran dancehall producer who worked with XXXTentacion on the tracks “Arms Around You,” with Lil Pump, “Royalty,” featuring Ky-Mani Marley, Stefflon Don and Vybz Kartel and “Hotgyal,” featuring Mavado, “I Don’t Really Speak Spanish” and “Arms Around You” also has a version with Spanish singer Maluma and Swae Lee.
“Arms Around You” has been streamed 550 million times and Jon Fx says it was a demo for another song. “I had recorded and later asked Daville to record it. I used Rio Santana because of the international appeal and Jahseh later put a verse eon it for me.”
A back story about Hot Gyal which has 16 million streams on Spotify was that the track was sent to Rihanna and she had an interest in putting a verse on the song for her yet to be released reggae album “R9” but Tory Lanez eventually hopped on it.
F*ck Love has been streamed 1,359,961,771 times on Spotify and peaked at No. 28 on the US Billboard chart as well as in 2018, the song charted in various countries around the world, reaching different peak positions. In Austria, it peaked at number 69 on the Ö3 Austria Top 40 chart, while in Canada, it reached number 31 on the Canadian Hot 100. The Czech Republic saw it reach number 44 on the Singles Digitál Top 100, and in Denmark, it peaked at number 39 on the Tracklisten chart.
In France, the song reached number 70 on the SNEP chart, and in Hungary, it reached number 32 on the Stream Top 40. Ireland saw it reach number 51 on the IRMA chart, and in Italy, it peaked at number 63 on the FIMI chart. The Netherlands saw it reach number 45 on the Single Top 100, while in New Zealand, it reached number 19 on the Recorded Music NZ chart. Norway saw it reach number 37 on the VG-lista chart, and in Slovakia, it peaked at number 84 on the Singles Digitál Top 100.
Sweden saw it reach number 35 on the Sverigetopplistan chart, and in Switzerland, it reached number 48 on the Schweizer Hitparade. In the United Kingdom, it reached number 89 on the UK Singles chart, number 10 on the UK Indie chart, and number 30 on the UK Hip Hop/R&B chart. Elsewhere in the United States, the song reached number 18 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart.
