Justin Bieber took to Instagram today to share a deeply personal and emotional message alongside the image of a lion. In the post, titled simply “THE LION,” Bieber opened up about his ongoing struggles, his faith, and the challenges he’s facing in the public eye.
“I believe God is my lion,” Bieber wrote. “My strong leader! Able to fight for me on my behalf. I believe wherever I am, He is.”
The Canadian born star went on to admit he is currently asking God for patience as he navigates what he describes as extreme frustrations, saying candidly, “It can be really hard to not rip these fuckin guys heads off.” Despite the chaos and personal battles, the singer expressed a sense of hope, noting that “through the chaos somehow God always brings me back to Himself.”
In a raw moment of self-awareness, The Sorry singer also reflected on his own actions, writing, “Today I’m forgiving myself for my own selfishness, and forgiving those who seek to use and abuse me simply because they want to capitalize off of me, or their jealousy makes them want to make me feel small like how they feel.”
Acknowledging the pressures and manipulations that come with fame, Bieber made it clear that he doesn’t see himself as a victim. “I moved to LA knowing it’s fucked out here,” he said. But rather than simply accept the status quo, he called on others to recognize the brokenness of the system — and work together to change it.
He also referenced the tragic death of Princess Diana, suggesting that the same toxic culture and exploitation he faces today also contributed to her untimely death.
“We gotta do better,” he urged. “Please can we make a change?”
Bieber’s post comes at a time when more and more artists are speaking out about the mental and emotional toll of fame, and his willingness to be so vulnerable once again shows why he remains one of the most relatable voices in pop culture today.
