Roc-A-Fella artists Kanye West and Jay-Z have earned their first RIAA certified Diamond single on Monday June 12, 2023. The duo’s groundbreaking single “Ni**as In Paris” has sold 10,000,000 units since its released on August 12, 2011. Ye previously earn a Diamond certification with Stronger, but this is the Jigga Man’s first after more than 30 years in the music business. The song which interpolates Puff Daddy’s Victory featuring Notorious B.I.G and Busta Rhymes won Best Rap Performance and Best Rap Song at the 55th Annual Grammy Awards.
Kanye had theorized in an interview that the song came about because he was indeed in Paris doing fashion runways while listening to hip hop music.
The music video for Ni**as In Paris directed by Ye (Then Kanye West) was shot live during a concert at the Staple Center in Los Angeles and has surpassed 386 million YouTube views.
