Shenseea Shows Support To Kanye West Amidst Grammy Performance Ban

Shenseea is coming out in support of her collaborator Kanye West who was banned from instagram last week and has subsequently been banned from doing an unannounced performance at the April 3 Grammy Awards.

The Deserve it singer posted a picture of Kanye on her instagram story Sunday evening, in a show of solidarity with Ye who gave her 2 Billboard Hot 100 songs last year.

The 25 year old upcoming singer also professed her love for Kanye West in an interview on Power 106’s Lift Off Show in Los Angeles with Just Incredible and Dj Sourmilk.

“I love Kanye, you know just seeing him on social media and then being around him is totally different, as with everybody but his is really in a good way.” she said. “He is definitely a true living inspiration, like I love Kanye. The love that he shows me, the way that he embraces me, pull me in and make me feel like yo I am a part of the team, I love that. He treats me like real family,” she said.

Kanye also gave her a grammy nomination by way of her contributions to “Donda” which Shenseea has said she was looking forward to winning.

The coveted album of the year trophy awards all participants on the winning album according to the new rules set by the Recording Academy.

Over 100 persons have been credited on Donda including Shenseea who performed and co-wrote on Pure Souls and OK Ok pt. 2. Buju Banton was also credited for his work on Believe What I Say.

Ye, was temporarily suspended from Instagram for reportedly violating the company’s policies.

Content from his account, @kanyewest, has been deleted for violating policies on hate speech, bullying and harassment, a Meta spokesperson confirmed Wednesday night.

The Stem-player owner’s account posted a photo of South African born comedian Trevor Noah and captioned it with choice words including “Koon” which is an offensive term in some parts of the US.

Noah encouraged fans to not make jokes about Kanye’s public divorce saga in a segment on “The Daily Show” on Tuesday night.

He said, “It’s spun into a story that seems fully tabloid but I think deserves a little more awareness from the general public. … I know everyone thinks it’s a big marketing stunt …,” Noah said in his segment. “Two things can be true: Kim likes publicity, Kim is also being harassed. Those things can be happening at the same time,” he continued.

“Additional steps will be taken if Ye continues not to follow Instagram community guidelines”, said the Meta spokesperson.

Kanye is up for 5 awards at this year’s Grammys but with the impending performance ban, it is not yet clear whether he will be allowed in the building to accept any awards if he wins.

His rep confirmed with People Magazine that he is prohibited from performing at the Grammy Awards.

The Game also posted “When will all the BLACK entertainers, Athletes, Actors, Producers, Writers, Directors, Media etc… figure it out?” along with a long winded response to the ban.

Ye’s rant against Trevor Noah, who is hosting this year’s show on April 3, is what some reports are saying may have been factored in the decision not to have him at the event.

Noah tweeted earlier today that he didn’t want Kanye to be cancelled but for him to be counseled.

West joins his long time compadre former President Donald Trump whose Facebook and Instagram accounts were suspended and then permanently deleted from the platforms. He remains banned until January 2023, when the company plans to re-evaluate.
