Karol G Releases “Contigo” With Tiësto and Shows Off Young Miko As Her Lover In Video

On her 33rd birthday on Wednesday, February 14th: Colombian superstar Karol G debuted her latest track, “Contigo,” a collaboration with Tiësto, marking their third project together. Previous collaborations include “Don’t Be Shy” (2021) and the “Provenza (Remix),” featured on Karol’s 2023 album “Mañana Será Bonito (Bichota Season).”

The song is the second most viewed music video on the last 24 hours with 4,125,597 views and so far surpassed 11 million views globally.

It debuts at #51 on the daily Global Spotify Chart, with 2,143,453 streams on February 15, 2024. Karol G’s 51st song to reach the milestone and Tiësto’s 11th song to appear on the chart.

The track was announced with the help of her fans during her sold out show in Mexico City.

Setting the tone for a new era, “Contigo” is an all-Spanish-language piece blending rhythmic Latin pop with electronic dance music, incorporating elements from Leona Lewis’ 2007 hit “Bleeding Love.” Co-produced by Ryan Tedder, the lyrics revolve around themes of love and acceptance. The accompanying music video features Karol’s solidarity with the LGBTQ+ community, co-starring Young Miko as her romantic interest.

Karol G first hinted at the song’s lyrics on social media, sharing the line “No quiero nada si no es CONTIGO” (I don’t want anything if it’s not with you). She later confirmed the upcoming release during a concert at Mexico’s Estadio Azteca.

Reflecting on the surprise from her fans in Mexico City, who displayed the lyric on a massive banner, Karol expressed gratitude on her Instagram Story, revealing the song’s release date coincided with her birthday.

“Contigo” arrives as Karol embarks on her Mañana Será Bonito Latin America tour and celebrates her first Grammy win for Best Música Urbana Album.
