Popular YouTube relationship advisor Kevin Samuel switched up the format of his online call in show to sit down with guest Jessica Wong, a former Miss Jamaica Universe contestant. Wong who now runs a swimsuit business took Kevin to task and held her own as he quizzed and rebutted her ideas on being an “independent woman”.
The 29 year old Wong, answered the question posed by Samuels, “Why aren’t you married?”
“Honestly I have never prioritized marriage.” She said.
Which started the light banter between the two leading Samuels to ask about her self actualized goals.
The model and entrepreneur said, “Traveling, speaking, I would love to speak to young people, help young girls, philanthropy. I always think I will meet Mr. Right.”
To which the 50 year old Kevin said,
“Well i don’t think there is a mister right?…Mr. Right where did that come from?”
“I don’t think every woman feel the way I do but what I have read is not a lot of woman are not seeking relationships because theres not many men that meet what they are looking for…not just in terms of earning but personality, communication skills, being supportive, those are the kind of traits I am looking for.”
The four part video tackled Kevin’s delivery in his other videos and his popular grading system for ‘High/Low Value Men” and “High/Low Value Women”.
“According to you in a couple months imma be 50% off because I am turning 30, but when does your discount ever happen as a man”.
Kevin then answered “but I also have to pay my way everywhere I go. You as a woman can choose to trade on your beauty, society ‘pedestalizes’ women.”
Earlier this year Kevin graded Nicki Minaj a 9 after she gave herself a 7 on his weekly Instagram live.
Kevin who, up until then was known to be condescending to women was way more penitent is his engagement with the Pink Print rapper.
Minaj herself a fan of his show was all ears to his advice and made it clear she has been wanting to speak to him for sometime.
“I wanted to get on and talk to you for a very long time” she said. “Well what do you rate me?” as Kevin reservedly answered, “I typically don’t rate people I usually let them rate themselves.”
Minaj also taught him a Jamaican curse word after he was unaware of the Pink Print rapper’s verbiage. Samuels Youtube channel with 1.3 million subscribers.
Last year the self titled prince of PanAfricanism, Dr. Umar Johnson made comments directed at Samuels. He called out the “misogynistic attitude towards Black women” by some YouTubers and influencers.
In Johnson’s opinion, they are profiting from “slandering and criticizing Black women who deviate from what he considers the Eurocentric standards of beauty and success.”
