Grammy Award winning reggae artist Koffee’s debut album Gifted has surpassed 100 million streams on Spotify.
Gifted released by Columbia Records has accumulated over more than 223,000 album equivalent units combined streams and sales account to data obtain by WMV from Billboard Sales tracker Luminate. This figure comprises 1,600 pure album sales and a total of 340 million on-demand streams (both audio and video). It is the second highest streaming reggae album by a Jamaican born female artist on Spotify.
The album which got a 4.5 star rating from WMV, peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard Reggae Albums Chart the week of April 5 with 3500 units combined in sales and streams within a week of its release.
It was the highest selling and highest charting reggae album of 2022 landing at No. 9 on the UK’s top 100 albums and number 5 on the physical albums chart giving Koffee the distinction of being the first female Jamaican to make the UK albums chart top ten this century.
The Rapture singer has been largely absent from the music scene since the release of Gimme with Sam Smith and Jessie Reyez. The voyeuristic dancehall song which is the second single from Smith’s fourth studio album “Gloria”, has surpassed 41 million streams on Spotify. The music video which has surpassed 5.1 million views on YouTube.
The song has also made disappointing entries on the Apple Music and iTunes Charts only managing to peep at No. 25 on the Jamaica Deezer charts and No. 44 on Apple Music in Smith’s home country U.K.
