“La Diabla” by Mexican-American singer Xavi (real name Joshua Xavier Gutierrez) is the most viewed music video on YouTube in the last 24 hours. The Toro Films visuals got 3.3 million views between December 29 and 30 on the platform.
The song produced by Ernesto Fernandez made its Billboard Hot 100 debut this week at No. 76. Xavi’s other single “La Victima” also debuted at No. 91, on the Hot 100 charted dated December 30. These are the 19 year old’s first debut on the US Billboard Hot 100.
Both songs “La Diabla” and “La Victima” also hit the Hot Latin Songs chart, securing the No. 4 and 7th positions, respectively. Xavi who is signed to Interscope Records has two additional entries on the Hot Latin Songs chart – “Poco a Poco,” featuring Dareyes de La Sierra, climbs to No. 26 place, and “Modo DND,” featuring Tony Aguirre, ascends to No. 30.
The surge in popularity for “La Diabla” and “La Victima” is attributed in part to their viral presence on TikTok, with “La Diabla” featuring in over 500,000 clips and “La Victima” in over 70,000.
Hailing from Arizona, the singer-songwriter, Joshua Xavier Gutierrez, expressed his disbelief and gratitude for the chart success. In addition to making waves on the Hot 100 and Hot Latin Songs, “La Diabla” climbs to No. 32 on the Billboard Global 200, and “La Victima” rises to No. 79 from 112.
Reflecting on his achievements, Xavi shared with Billboard, “Honestly, I just can’t believe it. Looking at the artists and songs that are in the [Hot Latin Songs] top 10 makes me feel very honored and humbled. I’m also very grateful to the team and all the fans who have supported the song. I feel truly blessed,” he said in an interview with Billboard earlier this month.
