“La Santa” by Bad Bunny and Daddy Yankee Reaches One Billion Streams On Spotify

“La Santa” “The Saint” from Puerto Rican rapper Bad Bunny’s third studio album, YHLQMDLG featuring  reggaeton pioneer Daddy Yankee has surpassed one billion streams on Spotify.

The high-energy reggaeton cut is produced by Tainy (Marco Efraín Masís Fernández) a renowned Puerto Rican music producer known for shaping the sound of modern reggaeton. “La Santa” incorporates interpolations from Daddy Yankee’s classic hit “Aquí Está Tu Caldo,” adding an extra layer of nostalgia for reggaeton fans.

The collaboration is one of the key highlights of YHLQMDLG as both artists are considered titans in the reggaeton genre—Bad Bunny being the leader of the modern reggaeton wave with his genre-defying style, and Daddy Yankee being one of the genre’s pioneers and a global ambassador for Latin music.

Upon its release, “La Santa” debuted at number 53 on the US Billboard Hot 100, marking another impressive achievement in Bad Bunny’s rapidly growing career. The song also made waves on Latin charts, reaching number 6 on the US Hot Latin Songs chart and charting in multiple countries, including Spain where it peaked at number 7.

Additionally, the track hit the US Latin Rhythm Airplay chart, where it climbed to number 1.

It is certified Gold in Spain (with 20,000 units sold) and 12× Platinum (Latin) status in the United States, with over 720,000 units sold and streamed.

The track also charted at No. 25 in Chile, and in Mexico, where it reached number 18. On the Billboard Global 200, it landed at number 151 and finished at number 25 on the US Hot Latin Songs year-end chart in 2020.

The official visualizer for “La Santa” was uploaded to YouTube on February 29, 2020, alongside other songs from YHLQMDLG. It has surpassed 384 million views.
