Less than 24 hours after the release of Carib B’s latest single ‘Bongos,’ social media personality turned dancehall artist Lincoln 3 Dot took to instagram on Friday to set the record straight that he will not be arguing over whether the song which also features Megan Thee Stallion interpolates his melodies and altered lyrics from his 2021 single “Bang” with Track Starr.
Fans of the Jamaican public figure who lives in Florida started to tag him in posts on social media about the single highlighting what they say is an obvious bite. 3 Dot himself posted his song on Friday with a concerned emoji as caption as well as a since deleted follow up video stating, “Alright yo me hear the song and to me and lotta other people, the song sound similar to my song. if you don’t think the song sound similar that a your opinion. But maybe Sh*t inna you ears and me nah pan fi argue wit nuhbaddi bout it. Mi nah plan fi argue did nuhbaddi Inna nah comment section, bout other the person she Bong or Bang. Me nah do none a dat, we will see what happens.”
This is after Cardi B claimed on The Breakfast Club Friday that she got the inspiration for “Bongos” from the latin music genre “Dem Bow.”
“It’s fun but it reminds me of Dem Bow” she said. “Its funk but it’s a Dominican style of music.”
Bongos produced by Shenseea’s Manager Donny “Dizzy Clean Face” Flores of We Good LLC who is also credited as a writer on the track along with DJ SwanQo, & Breyan Isaac. WMV contacted Flores for a comment on the production of the song but no answer was given.
Bongos is current No 1 in the Bahamas, Burmida and the US iTunes charts.
