Judy Mowatt, Marcia Griffiths, Luciano, Etana, Lukie D, George Nooks, Bro Elliot, and Glen Washington are some of the big names on The Engraph Riddim.

The project released by Embrace the Lord Records, was released on April 26, 2024 as the latest reggae compilation album by Record producer Herbert Ellis.

The 12 track set is filled with positive messages, features the tracks “Jesus” by reggae legend Judy Mowatt, “Looking Up” by fellow I-Trees member Marcia Griffiths and “Give Praises” by Luciano.

Ellis to the Jamaica Star that the album started from his ‘Embrace the Lord’ label slogan, which eventually evolved into a comprehensive musical project.

“I was home and heard a voice say ‘Embrace the Lord’ and felt compelled to act. I grabbed my computer, thought it over, and decided to print T-shirts with ‘Embrace The Lord’ on them. I mentioned it to Elliot, who suggested it sounded like a song. This led me to work on various musical projects until it finally became an album. This journey has been long and deeply spiritual,” he explained.

Another standout track on the project is “Thankful” by Etana where she sings “Lord I thank you for every little thing that you do, Yes I give thanks, thank you for the rest of my days I am always gone give you praise.”

“I want Jamaica and the world to take this project seriously because of its message: ’embrace the Lord.’ Reggae is timeless, and we need positive content, especially in this era where music quality has declined,” Ellis added.

Ellis also hinted at a potential limited vinyl release later this year. Listen below:
