The two statements were released separately on Saturday after gory images of the event started circulating in the media.

Show producers Live Nations’s statement was much more simple than Travis’. They promise to help investigators. “Heartbroken for those lost and impacted at the Astroworld last night. We will continue working to provide as much information and assistance as possible to the local authorities as they investigate the situation” The statement said.
Earlier in the evening, videos circulated with concert goes breaching security and barging into the venue.
This is not the first time that there is a crowd control issue at a Travis Scott concert. In 2019 a similar situation happened at the NRG Park in Houston. Fans were trampled and three people were transported to Memorial Hermann hospital with minor leg injuries after they attempted to enter the festival. per ABC13I
In December 1979 a similar concert disaster happened in Cincinnati, where 11 people died as they rushed to see Who at Riverfront Coliseum. Per Rolling Stone
Travis Scott is one of the highest earning concert acts. In 2019 Forbes reported that his Astroworld tour grossed $53.5 million as the “top hip-hop road show”.
The platinum rapper sold 485,659 tickets across the tour’s first 32 dates, according to Billboard.
This year is the third staging of Astroworld which saw Drake grace the stage as a surprise guest during Travis Scott’s set. Astroworld announced that Saturday’s show is cancelled as investigations continue.
