Los Angeles-based celebrities should not be concerned following the shooting incident at Rihanna’s home, District Attorney Hochman said while announcing charges against a Florida woman.
“LA based celebrities should not be additionally worried because of this. Because of the response of the police, the incredibly timely, promote response sends that message to any person that is even thinking of using a gun in this community that they face arrest, prosecution and punishment for those types of actions.”
Authorities also issued a protective order against Ortiz following her arrest.
“It is a stay away protective order, dealing with Rihanna, Rakim Meyers.” Their children and neighbors are also included.
Officials say the motive behind the incident remains under investigation.
“The motivation is under full investigation. Law enforcement will be looking at social media …for any motivation on why she did the particulars acts.”
Investigators say there is currently no evidence that anyone else was targeted.
“There is no additional evidence that she is trying to shoot anyone else but that is under investigation.”
Ivanna Lisette Ortiz (DOB 6/20/90) of Orlando, Florida, was charged in case 26CJCF01519 with one count of attempted murder, 10 felony counts of assault with a semiautomatic firearm and three felony counts of shooting at an inhabited dwelling or camper. Her arraignment was continued to March 25 in Department 30 of the Foltz Criminal Justice Center. Bail has been set at $1.875 million.
