Family Of Lt. Stitchie Seeks $100,000 for Ailing Gospel Deejay’s ‘Long-Term Care’

The reggae and gospel music legend, Cleve “Lt. Stitchie” Laing, is currently facing a significant health challenge after suffering a severe brain hemorrhage that has left him unresponsive according to a GoFundme set up to raise funds for the Jamaican artist.

A heartfelt message from the family and loved ones of Lt. Stitchie posted the GoFundme, they say, “We are reaching out to you during this incredibly challenging time. Our beloved Cleve ‘Lt. Stitchie’ Laing, a husband, father, and friend, has recently suffered a severe brain hemorrhage that has left him unresponsive.”

The family says they are facing significant medical expenses and is seeking assistance to transfer Lt. Stitchie to a long-term care facility where he can receive much-needed rehabilitation. “We urgently need you to join us to provide the help needed in a long-term care facility, where he can receive rehabilitation care.” This care is vital for Lt. Stitchie’s recovery, but the costs are overwhelming.

A friend of Stitchie from a major corporate company confirmed his currently state with WMV saying, “I got it from my college batch-mate and verified it with one of his close friend.”

The plea for support isn’t just financial. Lt. Stitchie’s family is calling for hope and prayers, as they believe that every bit of positive energy can make a difference. “Your donation will make a difference by bringing hope to Lt. Stitchie and his family during this difficult time,” they share, emphasizing the power of collective effort.

The family is deeply appreciative of any contribution, large or small, to help cover the costs of medical care and living expenses. “We are very grateful for your support to help cover the costs of his transfer, medical care, and living expenses in the long-term care home,” they add. Every donation brings them one step closer to ensuring Lt. Stitchie receives the care he needs.

Just last year, the Rev. Dr. Lieutenant Stitchie mourned the loss of his second brother within six months. Stitchie shared the news on Twitter, expressing his reliance on faith during this difficult time, stating, “His strength is made perfect in my weakness.”

Despite the personal tragedy, the Spanish Town native had said he was busy working on his 16th solo album, which will be released by longtime collaborator King Jammy. Stitchie’s last album was “Warrior” released in 2015.

The “Fast and Pray” deejay’s career started the 1970s as a hardcore deejay before transitioning to gospel music following a life-changing accident en route to Reggae Sumfest in 1997. Over the years, he has released numerous albums, including “Wear Yuh Size” and “Great Ambition,” which led to a deal with Atlantic Records. His transition to gospel began with the album “To God Be The Glory.”

The Gofundme has already garnered $700. See donation link here.
