Marion Hall (Formerly Lady Saw) Announces New Dancehall Single

Minister Marion Hall, the former Queen Of The Dancehall Lady Saw is re-entering the dancehall with a brand new track.

“Listen out for my new dancehall single,” she commented on Instagram. The track she says is titled, “Di Way How Mi Love You,” and will first be released on her new social media page. “Follow us on our new Facebook page, Holy Ghost Pentecostal Church of Jesus Christ, to be the first to hear it.”

In a previous post on social media, the 54 year old stated that she will be starting fresh by deleting her previous Facebook page with thousands of followers and replacing it with a new one.

Just a few days ago, the firebrand minister announced, “I’m about to make some of the hardest decisions I’ve ever made in my life, which may take me back to a place where I would never dream of going back but seems to be heading back there from this moment on.”

Last year Marion Hall headlined the final night of Reggae Sumfest and delivered a gospel laced dancehall set which drawer both praised and criticisms.

Her appearance at Sumfest came a year after she had said the previous year she would only perform if there was a gospel night.

The St. Mary native has an unparalleled legacy in dancehall music. She started singing at age 15 on local sound systems and became the first female DJ to achieve platinum certification in the US for her feature on No Doubt’s “Underneath it All,” for which she also won a Grammy Award.

Known for hits like “If Him Lef,” “Find a Good Man,” and “Stab Up Di Meat,” her debut album “Lover Girl” and subsequent releases like “Passion” and “99 Ways” solidified her status.

Her 1999 hit “Smile” with Vitamin C reached number 18 on the Billboard Hot 100 and sold gold. Despite criticism for her transition to gospel, Hall’s impact on dancehall remains influential.

Her gospel works include “When God Speaks” and songs like “Jesus In The End” and “Room In My House.” Whether as Lady Saw or Marion Hall, her contributions to music are significant and enduring.
