“Generation Of Kings” by Masicka spends a fourth week on the US Billboard Reggae Albums chart, moving down two spots to No. 7. The album, released by Def Jam Records, peaked at No. 2 in its opening week.
Fox 5 New York morning show “Good Day” dropped an unreleased performance segment with Masicka yesterday, where the deejay answered questions about the album a few weeks ago.
Rosanna Scotta asked the Portmore deejay about the inspiration behind the album, to which he responded, “After the first album, I just felt like it was my time, and we are all kings.”
Scotto chided Masicka about the chart performance of “Generation Of Kings,” which briefly dethroned Bob Marley’s Legend compilation album on the Reggae iTunes chart, as reported on WMV. She said, “By the way, the album is doing phenomenal, pushing all those other albums out of the way. You could be the next King Of Reggae. What do you think?”
Masicka laughed and said, “We are working towards it.” He ended by saying he is taking a break after “Generation Of Kings” before dropping another album.
“Generation Of Kings” lands this week above Stick Figure’s “Set In Stone” at No. 8, which spends 285 weeks on the chart, and Wisdom at No. 9, spending 68 weeks in the top ten. The band also has the No. 5 album, “World On Fire,” which spends 226 weeks on the chart.
