Sony Music has announced the release of Michael: Songs From the Motion Picture, the official companion album to the upcoming Michael Jackson biopic Michael. The soundtrack will be released on April 24, the same day the film arrives in theaters.
The album is available for pre-order beginning today and will be released across multiple formats, including several exclusive 2-LP color vinyl variants.
The 13-track collection features songs highlighted in the film and spans several eras of Michael Jackson’s career—from his early years with The Jackson 5, through The Jacksons, to his solo work. The soundtrack includes well-known recordings such as “Billie Jean,” “Don’t Stop ’Til You Get Enough,” “Human Nature,” and “Thriller.”
The film Michael opens in theaters April 24 and chronicles the life and career of Michael Jackson, from his early success as the lead singer of The Jackson 5 to his emergence as one of the most influential entertainers in modern music.
The film stars Jaafar Jackson, who makes his feature film debut portraying his uncle, Michael Jackson. The cast also includes **Nia Long, Juliano Valdi, KeiLyn Durrel Jones, Laura Harrier, Miles Teller, and Colman Domingo.
Michael is directed by Antoine Fuqua and written by John Logan, with production by Graham King, John Branca, and John McClain.
