Mikala (@MikaaaMeeks), a Florida-born content creator with Jamaican and Haitian roots, is quickly becoming a household name thanks to her viral TikTok videos featuring her vibrant parents. Raised in Coral Springs, Mikala stayed deeply connected to her Caribbean heritage, spending summers in Jamaica and growing up in a lively, love-filled West Indian household.
A graduate of Florida International University with a degree in psychology, Mikala began her professional journey in advertising before transitioning to education. She’s now a media specialist at an elementary school and draws heavily from both backgrounds to fuel her creative content strategy online. “The analytics side, editing, and copywriting—I definitely use everything I learned in advertising to market my content,” she said.

Her breakout moment came during the pandemic, when she started filming her parents, Sharon and Pierre, rating old photos and sharing candid moments. A video of her parents rating their younger selves in a hot tub went viral—catching the attention of The Shade Room and even Floyd Mayweather, who later donated iPads and computers to her school.

Since then, Mikala has secured partnerships with HBO Max, Warner Bros., and Atlantic Records UK. Despite the rapid growth, she remains grounded. “I never set out to be famous,” she said. “If I can help one person smile a day, I know I’m doing something right.”
Mikala credits her family for her authenticity and grounded energy. “I come from love and joy. That’s what I want to share. That’s the West Indian way.” She’s also a lover of old-school soul, with Donny Hathaway, Cleo Sol, and Damian Marley topping her playlists.

When asked how she manages fame and attention, Mikala keeps it simple: “Energy doesn’t lie. I’m introverted, observant, and selective. My soul’s anchored. I just don’t want to get lost in the chaos.”
With millions of views and a community growing every day, Mikala Meeks isn’t just creating content—she’s representing a culture, a vibe, and a generation seeking joy.
