Natural Mystic, a timeless track from the Exodus album by Bob Marley & The Wailers, has officially been certified Silver in the U.K. by the British Phonographic Industry (BPI). Originally released in 1977, the song achieved this milestone on December 13, 2024, for surpassing 200,000 units in sales and streams, as verified by The Official Charts Company.
This latest accolade adds to Bob Marley’s impressive catalog of Silver-certified singles, bringing the total to 17 since his first in 1978 with Jammin’. Marley now holds the distinction of having the second most Silver certifications for any Jamaican artist, trailing only Sean Paul, who leads with 19.
Several of the tracks have since climbed to Gold or Platinum but among these which were first BritCertified Silver for Bob Marley are Satisfy My Soul (certified May 3, 2024), Exodus (certified March 1, 2024), Get Up Stand Up (certified September 2, 2022), and I Shot The Sheriff (certified June 18, 2021).
Other timeless tracks include Stir It Up (certified September 4, 2020), Waiting In Vain (certified February 21, 2020), and Redemption Song (certified September 29, 2017). The beloved anthem One Love/People Get Ready was certified on May 26, 2017, while Is This Love (Remix) by Bob Marley featuring Lvndscape and Bolier achieved Silver on September 30, 2016.
Could You Be Loved (certified December 18, 2015), Buffalo Soldier (certified October 30, 2015), and Three Little Birds (certified July 22, 2013). Natirual Mystic was featured on the 1995 compilation album Natural Mystic: The Legend Lives On which rose to No. 5 on the U.K. Official Albums Chart and stayed on the chart for 10 weeks that year.
