New York City-
Saturday, May 11, 2024 will be declared the “Issa Trust Foundation Day” in the city of New York by Mayor Eric Adams. The special honor is in recognition of the foundation’s work in community health improvement, education and ongoing efforts to raise funds for the Mary Issa Pediatric and Adolescent Health Centre in St Ann, Jamaica that started recently.
“Whereas, the Issa Trust Foundation, a nonprofit organization established in 2005 has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to improving the lives of individuals in Jamaica through its comprehensive approach to education, healthcare and community development…Now therefore, I, Eric Adams, Mayor of the City of New York, do hereby proclaim Saturday, May 11, 2024, in the City of New York as: The Issa Trust Foundation Day,” the proclamation said.
The proclamation will be presented at the second New York ‘For The Children Gala,’ slated for May 11 at the elegant Cipriani’s 42nd Street, that will feature goodwill reggae ambassadors Third World and special guests Luciano, Gramps Morgan and Kumar. The event will begin at 6:30pm with cocktails, followed by dinner at 8pm and dancing, silent auction and entertainment.
“This is going to be a great night,“ said Paul Issa, Chairman of the Issa Trust Foundation.
“Great company, great food and drink and great entertainment! There are still tickets available so everybody in the Tri-State area should make an effort and come out and support this worthy and necessary effort to help the children of Jamaica, and have a good time doing it.”
Attending the gala will be Patron of the Foundation, Her Excellency, the Most Honorable Lady Allen, wife of the Governor-General of Jamaica, Sir Patrick Allen, who will read the proclamation in the Mayor’s absence.
Since its inception, the Issa Trust Foundation has been instrumental in reducing child mortality rates, thanks to partnerships with organizations like Direct Relief and the National Health Fund.
“We are passionately committed to providing world-class holistic services that address the physical, mental and social needs of our young people, and that’s why we are hosting this ‘For The Children’ Gala in New York, to raise awareness as well as funds funds to complete construction of the Mary Issa Health Centre,” Mr Issa added.
Denise Grant, the Commissioner of LauderHill in south Florida who will attend the gala said, “I applaud NY Mayor Eric Adams for recognizing the important work that the Issa Trust Foundation continues to do for the kids of Jamaica and to raise funds for the construction of the Mary Issa Pediatric and Adolescent Health Centre in St Ann, Jamaica.”
