The track marks Singh’s debut on the chart. In just three days, the song’s accompanying music video has also surpassed 1.7 million YouTube views.

The Bonnie and Clyde style track which is accompanied by a ‘helplessly in love’ themed music video introduces Toni-Ann to the music industry and is now No. 1 in 6 countries on three different platforms.

Popcaan’s collab T.A.S. on Burna Boy’s Grammy nominated album Love, Damini has Papi singing praises on the Chorus “Gyal yuh pretty like Toni Ann Singh” which has become a dancehall favorite after debuting on the US Afrobeats chart at No. 12. It is also No. 47 on the U.S. Afrobeats Year-End Chart.

World Music Views had an exclusive chat with Popcaan’s manager Amilar “Cobe” Smith who produced the track along with Anju Blaxx.

The song which is laced with romantic prophecies, promises and gestures but the two are yet to confirm a serious relationship except for several intimate moments in the music video and images of the two traveling together.

“It is originally a Popcaan song but we were in some business with Burna Boy to get a feature so we did a swap” Cobe told World Music Views. A “song swap” is music industry jargon meaning there is the possibility of a Burna Boy feature on Popcaan’s upcoming album “Great Is He.” An album that was originally scheduled to drop after the summer but has since been pushed back.

Elsewhere Popcaan received his 6th music certification in the U.K. on Friday according to the British Phonographic Industry. He is featured on the song “I Know There’s Gonna Be (Good Times)” with Jamie Xx and Young Thug which is now certified Gold for selling more than 400,000 units in that country.
