Nicki Minaj Taking ‘Pink Friday 2’ Tour To Africa As Album Sold 1,000,000 Units In The US

Nicki Minaj says she is working on taking her ‘Pink Friday 2’ World Tour to Africa and announced 13 Additional dates.

The news of the global arena tour comes as ‘Pink Friday 2’ becomes the fastest album by a female rapper to surpass 1 billion streams on Spotify.

On Friday a fan told Nicki that “it ain’t  world tour if you don’t come to Africa,” to which she answered, “ok bars, we working on it babe.”

Live Nation reported that more than 25 dates are already sold out arena shows with over 30,000 tickets sold in New York City. The tour boasts nearly 40 dates, making it Nicki’s highest-selling tour to date according to the tout company.

The new dates include performances in Brooklyn, Chicago, and Nashville in the U.S., as well as international stops in cities such as Manchester, Paris, and Stockholm.

Presale tickets are currently available for Citi cardholders, and the general presale is scheduled to commence on Friday, January 19.

Pink Friday 2, released on December 8, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart after selling more than 223,000 equivalent units in its first week. The album features collaborations with notable artists such as Drake, Lil Wayne, Skeng, Skillibeng, Future, and Lil Uzi Vert. The sequel to Nicki’s debut has already eligible for Platinum certification, with 100,000,000 equivalent album units sold in the US, including sales and streams from three previously-released singles: “Red Ruby Da Sleeze,” “Super Freaky Girl,” and “Last Time I Saw You,” according to Chart Data.

Minaj has also broken Spotify’s record for the biggest debut of an album by a female Hip Hop artist, amassing an impressive 41 million streams in the first weekend alone.
