Ozuna Brings His Life Story to the Big Screen With Odisea

Latin music sensation Ozuna is stepping into the world of filmmaking with Odisea, a biographical film chronicling his rise to global fame. The project marks the Puerto Rican artist’s debut as an executive producer, released under his production company, Bear with Oz Films.

Named after his groundbreaking 2017 debut studio album — which reigned atop Billboard’s Top Latin Albums chart for an astonishing 46 weeks — Odisea offers an intimate look at Ozuna’s journey from humble beginnings to becoming an international music star. The artist, born Juan Carlos Ozuna Rosado, portrays himself in the film, adding an unprecedented layer of authenticity to the story.

The Latin singer told Billboard, “Odisea is a project that we worked on with great dedication with the goal that my story can serve as an inspiration to children and young people to not stop pursuing their dreams, and never give up until they achieve them,” Ozuna shared in a press release. “We all have the ability to do it despite the obstacles that we face along the way. I am a living example of that.”

Directed by acclaimed Spanish filmmaker Alexis Morante, Odisea was shot on location in the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, and New York, blending cinematic artistry with real-world backdrops. The film features an ensemble cast, including Jorge Lendeborg Jr., Dania Ramírez, Ana Maria Estupiñán, Jencarlos Canela, Jessica Cediel, Laura Gómez, Israel Lugo, Sawandi Wilson, and Milly Quezada.

“For me, directing Odisea has been a challenge in every sense, both artistic and technical,” Morante remarked. “This is a film that navigates between cinematic fiction and reality, portraying the essence of an interplanetary music star who, far from losing his roots, brings them to the forefront of a story full of feeling and inspiration.”

Produced by Zumaya Cordero with Caribbean Films, Odisea promises to inspire audiences with its themes of perseverance and ambition. While the release date has yet to be announced, the film is poised to make a significant impact, continuing Ozuna’s legacy both in music and beyond.
