Several celebrity-backed crypto projects have been short-lived over the past few years with other public figures like Kim Kardashian and Floyd Mayweather launching tokens that eventually collapsed, often leaving investors with significant losses.
Two years ago Iggy Azaelia sold her music catalog in an eight-figure deal with Domain Capital, as reported by Billboard.
Domain Capital now owns 100% of Iggy’s share of her existing catalogue, while she retains an “additional trigger” to earn future revenue on her master recordings. The deal was negotiated by her manager, Reece Pearson, and her attorney, Peter Paterno.
Iggy Azalea first gained popularity with the release of her music videos for “Pu**y” and “Two Times” on YouTube. She later released her debut mixtape, Ignorant Art (2011), and signed a recording contract with American rapper T.I.’s Grand Hustle record label.
Currently, Azalea owns 100% of her Bad Dreams label. As of January 2023, she will fully own her masters and publishing rights for all future music. She also has an administration deal with Sony Music Publishing.
