Pon Di Gaza 2.0 By Vybz Kartel Has Surpassed 100 Million Streams On Spotify

Pon Di Gaza 2.0, Vybz Kartel’s seventh studio album, has surpassed 100 million streams on Spotify. Released on February 26, 2010, by Tads Records/Notnice and Adijaheim Records, this double album features 46 tracks, offering a mix of hit singles, deep cuts, and cultural anthems across both discs.

Although Pon Di Gaza 2.0 didn’t make the Billboard Reggae Albums Chart upon release, it produced standout tracks like “Clarks” and “Romping Shop,” which significantly boosted Kartel’s influence in both the U.S. and U.K. Other songs like “You A Me Baby,” “Virginity,” and “Love Dem/Gallis Anthem” showcase Kartel’s signature lyrical flair, especially around themes of love and relationships.

This marks Kartel’s second album to hit the 100 million-stream milestone, following King Of The Dancehall (2016), his 13th studio album.

Tracks like “Dollar Sign/Hustle The Money” and “Life We Living” explore themes of hustling and survival, while “Mr. Officer” and “People’s Cry,” “Life We Living” and Careful with Stephen Di Genius McGregor address social and political issues. The album also has mix of energetic anthems like “Get Wild” and introspective tunes such as “Story of My Life” and “Tear Drops.”

The album also included “Last Man Standing,” a track VYBZ KARTEL recorded minutes after this one stage clash with Mavado at Sting in 2008 produced by Notnice.

Other producers on the album include Chimney Records, DJ Chrome, Don Corleone, Rvssian, Lady Saw (Marion Hall), Joh John, and more.

After the albums was released Kartel was nominated for the 2010 Soul Train Award had on November of that year. Clark’s featuring Popcaan was also featured on BET’s countdown program 106 & Park and “So You Think You Can Dance” in Canada.

It was the song that propelled Popcaan to international stardom and reignited the strong connection between the U.K.’s Clarks shoe brand and Jamaican culture. Since then, Popcaan has signed a deal with Clarks as a brand ambassador and even launched his own line of the iconic desert shoes.
