Popcaan’s fourth studio album, Fixtape, stands as the only project by a Jamaican artist to debut on the US Billboard 200 Albums Chart this decade (2020s).
Released as a surprise drop during Jamaica’s Independence Weekend on August 7, 2020, via OVO Sound/Warner Records, Fixtape debuted at No. 94 on the Billboard 200 with 8,800 sales and streaming-equivalent units in its first week.
According to Luminate, the album has since sold over 100,000 album-equivalent units in the United States.
Fixtape is now recognized as the highest-selling Jamaican album released in the last five years, with more than 190 million Spotify streams, making it Popcaan’s most-streamed project to date.

The album also peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard Reggae Albums chart and No. 15 on the Canadian Albums Chart.
Fixtape is a 64-minute journey through modern dancehall, R&B, and trap-infused rhythms, reflecting Popcaan’s signature blend of introspection, swagger, and street energy. The album features a heavyweight list of collaborators including Drake, PartyNextDoor, Masicka, French Montana, Jada Kingdom, Stylo G, Tommy Lee, Dane Ray, and Frahcess One.
Production credits span a who’s who of international hitmakers—Boi-1da, London on da Track, Nineteen85, Noel Cadastre, The Fanatix, TJ Records, and Popcaan himself. The project was preceded by singles “Mamakita”, “Buzz”, and “Twist & Turn” featuring Drake and PartyNextDoor, which became Popcaan’s biggest streaming records globally as a lead artist.
