The Puerto Rican singer who converted to Christianity last year, released the reggae version of the famous song which translates to “What’s Wrong” in English originally performed and made popular by Jerry Rivera in the 90s. That video, uploaded 13 years ago has surpassed 300 million views on YouTube. Both Rivera and Farruko performed the reggae version of the song for YouTube Live Performance show released May 2020 which has surpassed 60 million views on the Platform.
This song is a single from Farruko’s 2019 album, “En Letra de Otro” which was a collaboration with HBO Latino. The album includes a documentary where he interprets songs from other artists like Ricky Martin, Frankie Ruiz, Jerry Rivera, Yandel, among others.
The multiple Latin Grammy winner’s other Spanish reggae song “Celebration” with Maffio, Akon featuring Ky-Mani Marley has been certified Latin Gold by the Recording Industry Association Of America (RIAA). The released October 4, 2019 has surpassed sales of 30,000 units in the U.S.
The Maffio and Jarop directed music video has surpassed 43 million views on YouTube. It is Ky-Mani’s first U.S. Latin certification.
“Celebration”, is a message song of hope that invites everyone to celebrate life by enjoying each moment.” Maffio said the song is a dedication to his sister who died a few years ago and he got the beat and sent to Akon and Farruko, which they immediately began to write and recorded the same day. He added that he got Ky-Mani Marley to record a month later “I needed them to be all three because it seems an incredible combination of talents,” said Maffio to WMV
Ky-Mani’s other latin song, Chillax released six years ago with Farruko is certified Latin 6x Platinum in the U.S. by the RIAA. The music video for that song has surpassed 800 million views on YouTube. It is the most streamed music video on YouTube by a member of the Marley family.
Farruko has several top streaming reggaeton collaborations with Rvsian including Privada with Nicky Jam, Arcangel, and dancehall deejay Konshens, “Krippy Kush” with Bad Bunny and “Krippy Kush Remix” with Nicky Minaj and Travis Scott.
Both music videos have 750 and 130 million views respectively on YouTube.
