Rain, Vibes & Revelry — Live Fast’s 12-Year Anniversary Party “AM City” Was Sound and Scenes

Just 40 minutes outside Kingston in the scenic town of Linstead, WMV attended what can only be described as one of the best curated party experiences in recent memory at the Dinthill Sports Complex—rain and all. The occasion? A 12-year anniversary celebration for Live Fast, a brand synonymous with photography, videography, and now, unforgettable party events.

Founded by Greg Douglas, along with co-founders Michael Wright, Tavar Mighty, and Osmond Fennel, Live Fast began in Kingston and carved out its roots across Jamaica with sharp visuals and bold storytelling. What started as a passion project built around a shared love for the lens, has now evolved into a movement—visually and experientially.

From Lens to Lifestyle

“We’ve been doing photography and videography for the past 12 years,” Greg told WMV. “To celebrate that milestone, we decided to throw an event—AM City—and give people something different.”

The all-white dress code was executed flawlessly. Patrons arrived stylish, glowing, and ready. Predominantly in stylish all-white attire, some opted for colors, but still adhering to a crisp, upscale atmosphere in the countryside.

Chic dresses to relaxed yet fashionable pieces like linen shirts, flowing skirts, and statement accessories, evoking a sense of modern elegance and summer luxury. From the moment we stepped into the venue—creatively styled by MNR Events with added touches from the Live Fast crew—we could feel the attention to detail.

Although everyone was well dressed, when the skies opened up and rain began to pour, nobody moved.

The Vibes Were Intentional

With Soul to Soul providing the sound and a flawless rotation of DJs keeping the tempo locked, the music met the moment. Live Fast didn’t just organize a party—they curated an atmosphere. Sponsors like Worthy Park, Red Bull, and Nescafé added their stamp, giving the event a premium yet grounded feel.

“We’ve built strong relationships over the years,” Greg explained. “Not just with promoters, but with the culture. When you put out excellent work, people support you. This event was a thank you to everyone who’s been part of that journey.”

A Brand Born from rap music

Interestingly, the name Live Fast wasn’t just a catchy phrase—it was inspired by a lyric from J. Cole: “Live fast, die young… but I drive slow.” That tension between hustle and mindfulness is what fuels the brand. And although they started in Kingston, it was a 2013 event in St. Ann that helped the team realize the island-wide potential of their vision.

What’s Next?

Based on what we saw today, Live Fast has officially stepped into the promoter space with serious credibility.

Greg, a certified vibe curator said, “Well, this is just the beginning. It’s a team effort, and we’re proud of what we’ve built. We’ll definitely be doing more.”

Final Verdict:

• Vibes: 10/10

• Décor: Classy and clean

• Music: Perfectly curated

• Crowd: Stylish, good energy

• Rain factor: Only made it better

Happy 12th, Live Fast. You didn’t just celebrate the journey—you elevated the standard.
