Legendary reggae icon Buju Banton has officially signed with Independent Artist Group (IAG) for full-service agency representation across all areas of his career.

The deal which was first announced by concert trade publication Pollstar in January comes amid a resurgence in Banton’s international touring presence, which includes a string of sold-out performances across the United States and the Caribbean. Last summer, the Grammy- Award winning artist grossed a combined $4.5 million from back-to-back shows at UBS Arena in New York on July 13 and 14 according to Billboard boxscore—a historic first for any Jamaican performer at the time.

Banton then launched his Overcomer Tour, which delivered capacity-filled performances at major venues across North America including Canada. He then made history as the first solo reggae artist to sell out the Barclays Center in Brooklyn in November, when he headlined the 19,000-capacity venue, capping off the biggest solo U.S. arena tour for a reggae act of all time.

The Barclays concert also set a new benchmark for the genre: ticket prices ranged from US$124 to a record-breaking US$8,400 for luxury suites—making it the highest-priced reggae concert in U.S. history.

While the tour played to packed audiences at venues like State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C., and others, six dates were canceled due to low ticket sales. Buju cited scheduling conflicts and announced plans to reschedule the missed shows in 2025.

The new partnership with IAG, which represents marks a strategic expansion of Banton’s global reach into uncharted markets, but playing to significantly less people in each venue. According to the agency, the signing ushers in “a new chapter of creative exploration and worldwide visibility” for the Jamaican music icon.

IAG also represents acts such as 50 Cent, Mary J. Blige, and Billy Joel, along with dozens of other American stars. The agency describes itself as “a globally recognized leader in full-service talent representation and brand management, with decades of experience and an entrepreneurial spirit at our core.”

Banton is now represented by Jeremy Holgerson and IAG’s Head of Music Jarred Arfa, with Sia Aghiaepour serving as a consultant.

Since joining IAG, Buju Banton has already headlined PH Live at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas on June 7, 2025—his first-ever show in the city, drawing more than 7,000 reggae fans. He is next set to perform with the Til Shiloh Band at the 7000 Hard Rock Live at Etess Arena in Atlantic City on Friday, September 12, with special guests Jesse Royal and DJ Splackavelli.
