Rema, the Nigerian Afrobeats rapper-singer-songwriter, achieves his first No. 1 on Billboard’s Latin Airplay chart in collaboration with Feid on “Bubalu,” which ascends from No. 2 to claim the top spot on the chart dated January 13, 2024. This marks Rema’s first appearance on any Billboard Latin chart.
The Spanglish track “Bubalu,” the fourth single from Feid’s Mor No Le Temas a La Oscuridad, also marks Rema’s debut singing in Spanish. The single made its debut on the Billboard Hot Latin Songs chart at No. 39 in October, eventually peaking at No. 28 on the list dated January 6.
“Bubalu” placement at No. 1 on the Latin Airplay tally with a 14% surge in audience impressions, accumulating 10.8 million in the United States during the tracking week of December 29 to January 4, as reported by Luminate.
Feid notches his fifth No. 1 on Latin Airplay with “Bubalu,” adding to his impressive collection that includes chart-toppers such as “Porfa”with J Balvin, Maluma, Nicky Jam, Sech & Justin Quiles (August 29, 2020), “Hey Mor” Ozuna featuring Feid (March 4, 2023), “Yandel 150” with Yandel (April 15, 2023), and “Niña Bonita” with Sean Paul (August 19, 2023).
On the Billboard Latin Rhythm Airplay chart, “Bubalu” maintains its No. 1 position for a fourth consecutive week, earning the Greatest Gainer honors. Additionally, the single climbs from 28 to 25 on Hot Latin Songs, a chart that considers airplay, streaming activity, and digital sales.
