Rich Homie Quan, 34, has reportedly passed away, sending shockwaves through the hip-hop community. The initial news broke on Twitter via Thuggerdaily, which led to skepticism due to the source’s unofficial nature. However, confirmation soon came from Boosie Badazz
Fans and fellow artists have since expressed their condolences online, with many in disbelief given his recent relevance in music discussions. Although rumors about the cause of his death are circulating, no official details have been confirmed. Rich Homie Quan was beloved by many for his musical contributions, and his death is a significant loss. The situation is still developing.
Just recently Quan’s name came up in the ongoing YSL RICO trial, as Kenneth Copeland, also known as Lil Woody, wrapped up his testimony on September 3, 2024. During his final appearance, the prosecution inquired about Young Thug and Rich Homie Quan’s relationship, specifically if Thug had any issues with Rich Homie Quan bringing members of If Gang to his apartment. Instead of answering, Woody directed the same question to Thug, asking, “Thug, did you have an issue with Rich Homie…,” before being interrupted. This lighthearted moment caused laughter in the courtroom, including from Young Thug.
Earlier in his testimony, Woody confessed to being involved in shooting up Quan’s father’s barbershop in Atlanta’s Bankhead neighborhood. Before admitting this, Woody sought confirmation from the judge, asking, “Your honor, you said nothing I say can be used against me?” Once the judge confirmed, Woody stated, “Me and Threat shot up Rich Homie Quan daddy barbershop on Bankhead.” He explained that the incident was related to a conflict between Threat and Rich Homie, adding, “I don’t know what happened with Threat and Rich Homie Quan, but I’ma ride with my brother and they was beefin’ and yeah, we pulled up and did that.”
Quan also mentioned recently that he would be open to having a conversation with Young Thug in an interview.
