Barbadian billionaire beauty Rihanna, seemingly confirmed that she will be the headline act at Super Bowl 2023 half time show. Days after Taylor Swift reportedly turned down the offer until she is done re-recording her music from her first six albums. At this point the NFL went on the hut to find someone to headline the much talked about show.
The NFL announced earlier this week that Apple Music is the new sponsor of the Super Bowl LVII 2023 Halftime Show and on Sunday Rih Rih posted a picture of her hand holding a football on her instagram.
Her way of confirming that the February 12, 2023 event will be headline by the Caribbean native.
Roc Nation later posted the same image-on their Instagram account, writing, “Let’s GO,” and tagging Rihanna and the NFL, while adding the hashtag “#SBLVII.”
In February this year headliners Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg’s groundbreaking hip hop bop “The Next Episode” hit number 1 on the digital sales chart for the first time. Dre had announce that the Super Bowl performance would mark the beginning of his next era of life after his wife filed for divorce. The track sold 20 thousand units in the week of their Super Bowl Half Time Performance (February 13).
“The Next Episode” was released long before the digital era of music on June 26, 2000 as the third single from Dre’s second studio album, 2001 (1999) on Aftermath/Interscope records. The track also features Kurupt and Nate Dogg, but only Snoop Dogg is credited. It is a sequel to Dre and Snoop’s famous single “Nuthin’ but a ‘G’ Thang” from the cultura classic album, The Chronic.
The song peaked at number 23 on the Billboard Hot 100 and 11 on the R&B/Hip Hop Songs chart.
Rihanna’s last album was Anti in 2016 but since then she has dropped hit singles and show stopping launches of her Fenty Brand of products.
Last year the National Hero of Barbados lrocked the globe with a music infused Savage Fenty Show.
The Barbadian beauty, who recently had a baby with Asap Rock, has dominated the lingerie market, once ruled by Victoria Secret. The Savage Fenty brand launched 4 years ago has set a new standard of inclusivity for fashion, with her team of choreographers, models, dancers, influencers and designers: a brand that gives women of all shapes and sizes the comfort and representation they desire.
“Every woman deserves to feel sexy,” Rihanna said in the first Savage Fenty documentary in 2019. The fashion brand has since been worn by millions of people and Rihanna is now a billionaire.
Savage Fenty 2021
Unlike previous shows where there was an audience to give immediate feedback, the only audience in this latest Savage Fenty Show are just us, at home, watching on Amazon Prime.
This use of drones and close-up camera angles carries each moment’s magic to life. The music, live performances, and Rihanna herself will keep you on the edge of your bedroom side chair.
The Savage Fenty Show with all its creativity, sexiness, risqué performances and diversity reminded me of an extended early 2000 BET uncut music video except this is Rihanna’s show. One does not give a review of Rihanna’s show because she just gets better and better so here is the run way run down. Most of the action takes place in a singular building, dimly lit in an urban environment with red accents as the dancers take over the different hallways, roof and open rooms.
Rihanna is among a handful of people to have a song go diamond in the U.S. “Love the Way You Lie” by Eminem featuring Rihanna released in 2010 was certified diamond on February 28, 2018.
All of her albums have been certified platinum and multi-platinum in the United States by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) and have totalled sales of over 10 million copies in the country.
Rihanna released her debut studio album, Music of the Sun in August 2005. It reached the top ten on the Canadian Albums and the US Billboard 200 charts; it was certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) and sold over 623,000 copies in the country. As of 2015, Music of the Sun had sold over two million copies worldwide.
The pop superstar re-released her older music on Vinyl in a limited edition series with a colored and trendy looking discs geared toward young people.
In 2016 Rihanna made the impressive move of acquiring the rights to all her previous albums. per Vogue
