Rygin King’s Therapy Album Numbers Are In, Stick Figure’s Wisdom Debuts With Record Breaking (Lifetime)Numbers

Rygin King’s end of summer release Therapy sold 250 pure copies so far in the United States according to data provided to World Music Views by music data tracking company Luminate. The album released independently last week on his Rygin Trap label also clocked 2.4 million lifetime streams. The total lifetime equivalent U.S. album sales with TEA and SEA on-demand equals to 1500 units.

The 9 track album spawns the YouTube no.1 single Therapy which currently has 3.3 million YouTube views and the singles Circumstances and Broken.
Rygin King came on the music scene in 2018 with the song Tuff which spent several weeks at no. 1 on WMV YouTube Jamaica chart.
His career took a pause after he was shot in 2020 along with his female companion and another male in a drive-by shooting in Westmoreland.
The woman with whom he was traveling was pronounced dead, and he survived but the western Jamaica deejay is now unable to walk as a result of the injuries he sustained.
His album Therapy follows the release of the 2021 single Stop That Train with legendary reggae-dancehall artist U-Roy on the Trojan Jamaica label.

Meanwhile California reggae band Stick Figure’s 7th studio album Wisdom clocks 10,900 pure copies in the U.S.

The album also streamed 5.5 million in its first week of release and 32.3 million U.S. lifetime streams (including all streams of album tracks pre-released) giving the project so far a total 34,900 equivalent album units. Wisdom is set to debut at no. 51 on the Billboard 200 albums chart and in the top 10 Reggae Albums chart this week. It is one of the highest first week US equivalent album sales for a reggae album since the advent of streaming.
Sean Paul’s breakout second album Dutty Rock released November 2002 sold 65,000 in its first week in the US.

Damian Marley’s September 2005 album “Welcome To Jamrock” opened with 86,000 copies in its first week of release in the United States and within a year Welcome to Jamrock sold 539,000 recognized copies in the United States according to Luminate.

In streaming era, Rebelution’s 2016 album Falling Into Place debuted with 13,000 units.
Sting & Shaggy’s collaborative album 44/876 was released on April 2018 by A&M Records, Interscope Records and Cherrytree Records, debuted at number nine on the UK Albums Chart with first-week sales of 10,000 units.
Stick Figure 2019 album World on Fire, which clocked opening sales of 10,283 copies. World on Fire has sold over 300,000 copies including streaming equivalents, according to Luminate data tracking. The album peaked at number 34 on the Billboard Top 200, #6 overall Top albums, #1 Independent, and #1 Reggae album.

The sublime reggae band’s catalog has now sold over one million copies and been streamed over three billion times.
Wisdom is recorded and mixed by vocalist and producer Scott Woodruff, with collaborations from Slightly Stoopid(Way of Life),Barrington Levy(Soul Of The World) and Collie Buddz(Showdown).
