Satisfy My Soul by Bob Marley & The Wailers is now certified Silver in the U.K.
The award was given by the British Phonographic Industry on Friday May 3, 2024 for selling 200,000 combined units in the country with data measured by the Official Charts company.
Originally recorded in 1970 as “Don’t Rock My Boat,” the song underwent a transformation before being re-recorded in 1977 and released in 1978 as a single for their album “Kaya.”
Recorded at Island Studios in London, England, the track embodies the spirit of the Caribbean, transporting listeners to the sun-soaked shores of Jamaica with its vibrant soundscapes.
Upon its release, “Satisfy My Soul” climbed to number 21 on the UK charts.
The song is included in several Marley compilations including the best selling “Legend.”
Other BPI announced certifications on May 3 came from a variety of releases spanning different genres and eras.
Leading the pack is pop sensation Taylor Swift, whose latest album #1 album “The Tortured Poets Department” has been certified Platinum by the BPI. Swift, known for her poignant songwriting and immense popularity, continues to captivate audiences worldwide with her latest musical offering.
