Rapper Saucy Santana announce signing to the RCA records on The Breakfast Club On Thursday.

The entertainment personality real name Justin Harris began his career as a makeup artist for the hip hop duo City Girls. He then started rapping in February 2019, and released his debut single “Walk Em Like A Dog” that same year. After becoming a recurring guest on the reality television franchise Love & Hip Hop: Miami, Harris gained further prominence in 2021 when his singles “Material Girl”, “Walk” and “Here We Go” spawned viral challenges on TikTok.

RCA records commented “Welcome to the family” under a post by @breakfastclub on Instagram. Other notable acts signed to RCA records include Becky G, Doja Cat, Karol G and Jamaica’s own Koffee, Protoje, Lila Ike and fast rising dancehall artist Skillibeng.

In July 2020, Harris released his second mixtape Pretty Little Gangsta, with the lead singles “Up & Down” featuring American rapper Mulatto, and “Back It Up” featuring American rapper LightSkinKeisha. Harris featured on American rapper Sukihana‘s single “Food Stamp Hoe” in August 2021.

After Harris came out as gay at age 17 he was shot in a drive-by shooting in Miami in December 2019, along with two others. Harris, was hospitalized with his injuries, and stated that he believes the shooting was motivated by homophobia. He said of the shooting, “I got shot in the top of my shoulder, you was aiming at my face or at my head, that’s an instant kill.” This incident inspired him to write “You Can’t Kill Me.”

RCA Records is lead by British-born executive Peter Edge who is CEO and Chairman.

Edge was named President of A&R, RCA Music Group (RMG), since 2007.

Sony Music became the parent company of RCA Music Group in 2011 which at the time included Arista, J, Jive Records, and RCA.

That same year, Edge was appointed Chief Executive Officer of RCA Records. Arista, J and Jive Records were later folded into RCA.

Commenting on what defines RCA as a company in 2019 during an interview with Music Business Worldwide, Edge stated: “I’m pleased to say we’re becoming known for being a destination label for artists, with great artist development stories in the last three years.

“I’M PLEASED TO SAY WE’RE BECOMING KNOWN FOR BEING A DESTINATION LABEL FOR ARTISTS.”
