DJ Vlad reports that Sean “Diddy” Combs is likely to be granted bail soon, citing FBI sources. During his podcast, which boasts over 6 million subscribers, Vlad shared, “According to my sources—and while I can’t say this with absolute certainty—it appears to be a credible report that Diddy is going to get bail.” He made the statement while speaking with comedian TK Kirkland.
The revelation by Vlad follows the dismissal of a civil lawsuit in February against Jay-Z and Diddy with prejudice by the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, preventing it from being refiled. The plaintiff, identified as Jane Doe, voluntarily withdrew the case under Rule 41(a)(1)(A)(i) of the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure.
Jay-Z called the lawsuit a “frivolous” and “fictitious” attempt at a money grab, criticizing the legal system for allowing baseless claims. His attorney, Alex Spiro, emphasized that Jay-Z never settled and successfully defended his name. With the case closed, Jay-Z can move forward without further legal concerns.
Diddy also scored another victory in his plethora of legal troubles on Monday when federal judge Judge J. Paul Oetken dismissed the RICO and breach of contract claims filed by Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones. However, key allegations of sex trafficking and sexual assault will still proceed. Judge J. Paul Oetken ruled that Jones failed to establish a RICO enterprise or a valid contract, dismissing those claims along with others related to emotional distress. However, Combs and his former Chief of Staff, Kristina Khorram, must still answer to serious allegations, including sex trafficking.
Jones, a producer who worked closely with Combs on The Love Album: Off the Grid, filed the lawsuit in February, seeking $30 million. He alleges that he was exploited, assaulted, and denied payment for his contributions. While the judge criticized Jones’ attorney for legal missteps and inflammatory language, he allowed the case to proceed on the remaining claims.
Combs remains in custody at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, awaiting trial on separate federal RICO and sex trafficking charges. He continues to deny all allegations.
