Global dancehall superstar Sean Paul has further solidified his iconic status in Brazil with three of his singles achieving Gold, double Platinum and triple Platinum certifications.
“Mad Love,” a collaboration between Sean Paul, David Guetta and the talented Becky G, is certified double platinum by Pro-Música Brasil for digital sales surpassing 120,000 units. Gold, Platinum, and Diamond certificates that the Association has issued from 1990 to the present day, are upon request from the associated record labels.
“Mad Love,” released February 18 is the fourth single from Sean Paul’s first EP “Mad Love The Prequel,”(June 29, 2018) via Universal Music. The lead single from the EP “No Lie,” featuring British singer Dua Lipa released November 18, 2016 also becomes triple Platinum in Brazil for sales of 180,000 units. Globally it is Sean biggest single as lead artist surpassing 1 billion streams on both Spotify and YouTube.
Sales certification takes into account all consumption formats, including physical sales, digital downloads, and audio and video streaming accesses, weighted based on the relative value of each consumption method according to the internationally adopted TEA (track equivalent album) methodology, with streaming/download/physical sales conversion factors periodically revised.
“Hey DJ” Remix, the star-studded collaboration by Miami based latin band CNCO, Meghan Trainor, and Sean Paul, has also struck Gold in Brazil for sale surpassing 30,000 units. Released April 4, 2017 by Sony Latin Music, it is the lead single from the boy band’s eponymous second solo album which blends Latin pop, reggaeton, and dancehall elements, showcasing the versatility of all artists involved. Sean Paul’s contribution brings a distinct dancehall vibe that enhances the track’s appeal.
