Dancehall artist Sean Paul has surpassed 1.5 billion streams on Spotify within 2024, according to data obtained by World Music Views from the Swedish streaming platform. This achievement marks his second consecutive year of surpassing the billion-stream milestone. With a total of 12.7 billion streams across his catalog, Sean Paul continues to dominate the global music scene.
His biggest track, Rockabye with Clean Bandit and Anne-Marie, has now amassed over 1.6 billion streams, while No Lie featuring Dua Lipa has reached 1.2 billion. Meanwhile, Temperature is on the verge of hitting the billion mark, with 951 million streams to date.
These accomplishments make Sean Paul the first Jamaican artist to reach such significant streaming milestones.
This year, reggae and dancehall music saw record streams both locally and globally. Rvssian’s “Santa” with Rauw Alejandro, Ayra Starr is the most streamed song with a Jamaican artist released in 2024 surpassing 530 million streams on Spotify.
The music video for Santa, released April 4, has more than 150 million streams on YouTube, the highest streaming song on YouTube by a Jamaican released this year.
“Jump” by Tyla featuring Skillibeng has surpassed 190 million streams on Spotify making it the second hinges streaming song by a Jamaica released this year on the platform. Official data from Spotify’s Wrapped 2024 feature, which highlights the top singles and artists of the year, is expected to be released in the coming days.
