Grammy Award-winning dancehall star Sean Paul has released his latest single, “DIP,” a high-energy collaboration with creator, DJ and producer Sommer Ray.
Released through Sean Paul’s Dutty Rock Productions, the track is co-produced by Sean Paul and Ray and is designed around the dance floor, pairing a dancehall-driven rhythm with the Jamaican artist’s signature delivery.
“‘DIP’ is about energy and movement,” Sean Paul said. “When the beat hits, you’re supposed to feel it. I always want to make music that people can enjoy anywhere in the world, and this one is definitely made for people to move.”
The release also highlights Sean Paul’s expanding role behind the scenes. In addition to recording and performing, the Grammy winner has increasingly used Dutty Rock Productions as a vehicle for production and for supporting Jamaican producers, artists and emerging talent.
For Ray, “DIP” adds another music credit to a career built largely across digital media, fitness, fashion and entrepreneurship. Known to millions through social media, she has expanded into DJing and music production, bringing a sizable digitally native audience to the collaboration.
The pairing places Sean Paul’s decades-long connection to international club culture alongside Ray’s presence within the modern creator economy, as dancehall continues to intersect with electronic music, pop and digital-first audiences.
Sean Paul has spent more than two decades taking Jamaican dancehall to international markets, scoring global hits and collaborations while influencing music across pop, hip-hop, Afrobeats, Latin and electronic genres.
“DIP” continues his focus on movement and club culture while marking another release under the Dutty Rock Productions banner.
