Trinity by Sean Paul makes a return to the Billboard Reggae Albums chart three weeks before its 18th anniversary. The album which as the name suggests is Sean’s third studio album was released September 27, 2005 is at No. 3 this week, making its 138 weeks on the chart.
The last time the album was on the US Billboard Reggae chart was in January also at No. 3. ‘Trinity’ is currently certified platinum in Europe and in the US by the Recording Industry Association Of America (RIAA) and features production from Donovan “Don Corleon” Bennett, Renaissance Crew, Rohan “Jah Snowcone” Fuller, Steven “Lenky” Marsden, Craig “Leftside” Parks, and Supa Dups. It is Sean’s fourth most streamed album on Spotify with 862,137,203 as of September 6, 2023 according to data from the platform.
Singles from the album include “We Be Burnin'”(22 August 2005), “Ever Blazin'” (28 November 2005), “Temperature” (5 December 2005), “Never Gonna Be the Same” -(2006), “Give It Up to Me” (6 June 2006).
The album has sold 4 million copies worldwide and an expanded two-CD edition was released in the UK where it is certified Gold with the extra tracks; “Cry Baby Cry” and “Break It Off.”
Last year “The Trinity” joined a school of Sean Paul albums on Billboard’s Year End Reggae Chart at No. 14.
Usually Sean’s Dutty Classics Collection (VP/Atlantic) is at No. 3 on Billboard’s weekly chart but this week it is out of the top ten. The other Sean Paul album on the chart is Dutty Rock at No. 8. The album spent 199 weeks on the chart.
It’s no surprise that “Legend: The Best Of Bob Marley And The Wailers” continues to reign supreme at the top of the chart. This timeless compilation of Bob Marley’s greatest hits has held the number one position for an impressive 191 weeks, a testament to the enduring power of his music.
Shaggy’s “The Boombastic Collection” maintains its steady hold on the second position for 231 weeks. The compilation album showcases his biggest hits, including the iconic “Boombastic.”
Stick Figure’s “Wisdom” stands strong at number four and has been on the chart for 51 weeks, since it peaked at No. 1 a year ago. The band also has “World On Fire” at No. six, and “Set In Stone” at number seven.
UB40’s “Greatest Hits” is at number five, with an impressive 259 weeks and counting on the chart.
“The Elovaters” is at number nine, with “Endless Summer” making waves after just five weeks on the chart and Rebelution’s “Live At Red Rocks” re-enters the chart at No. 10.
