Seanizzle Celebrates Billboard Plaque for Busy Signal’s Parts of the Puzzle: “Sharing My Christmas Gift with All My Supporters”

Renowned Jamaican producer Seanizzle took to social media to celebrate his latest milestone in the music industry—earning a Billboard plaque for his contribution to the album Parts of the Puzzle, by Busy Signal (2019) which debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard Reggae Albums Chart.

“Sharing My Christmas Gift with all my supporters 🎄🎄❤️❤️,” he began in the Instagram post. “Big Thank You!!! to @busysignal_turf for inviting me to be a part of this Dope album #PartsOfThePuzzle.”

Track 14, “Nuh Weh Nuh Safe” featuring Bounty Killer is the credit Seanizzle has on the album the Rum and Redbull producer also extended special thanks to Bounty Killer, for the collaboration: “Thank you to @grunggaadzilla for the wicked feature respect, General!!!”

Seanizzle, born Sean Reid, told World Music Views about the spontaneous process that created the song: “The song was recorded on a Sunday. Busy came by my studio while I was creating the riddim. Before he came in the studio he already wrote the chorus for it,” he said. Adding, “While he is recoding I’m adding sounds to the riddim.”

Parts of the Puzzle, on October 4, 2019, is Busy Signal’s 5th studio album and his highest charting to date. Known for his versatility in genres such as roots reggae, soca, EDM, and Afrobeats, Busy Signal discussed his journey, motivations, and the project in an interview with Billboard.

On collaborating with Bounty Killer, Busy highlighted their strong bond to Billboard: “Killer is like a big brother to me… He really helped me when I migrated here.”

Busy also pointed to the industry’s shift to streaming, “The world is more of a single-based [environment]. Albums are so short now, they’re like EPs.” However, the artist maintains his creative hunger, stating, “My story is never complete… I’m still searching for my own puzzle, musically.”

On the 17 track album are songs like “Stay So,” hailed as a “musical resurrection,” gained popularity in the dancehall. Busy pays homage to dancehall pioneers through tracks like “Got To Tell You,” which samples Cutty Ranks, and “Fat Under,” inspired by Admiral Bailey’s 1987 hit “Mi Ah God Pickney.” Regarding this approach, he said, “I love paying homage to artists and adding my little twists to classic songs.”
