Shakira’s New Single “Nassau” Suggests She Has Found A New Man

Shakira’s preview of her new afrobeats single, “Nassau,” from her upcoming album “Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran” hints at a newfound romance, prompting fans to wonder if she’s back in the dating scene. The song’s lyrics offer a poignant exploration of love’s ability to heal and transform, serving as a tribute to its profound impact on one’s life.

Scheduled for release on March 22, the album delves into Shakira’s personal journey of overcoming heartbreak following her separation from Gerard Piqué, the father of her children. “Nassau” is anticipated to captivate audiences with its afrobeat sound and accompanying music video, offering glimpses of Shakira’s sensual side and lyrical depth.

In the song, Shakira reveals her process of healing from past wounds with the support of a special someone, ultimately rediscovering love despite initially closing herself off from new relationships. Lyrics such as “I who had promised that I would never want to love again, You appeared to heal the wounds left by that one, I had that closed off, with keys and padlocks, but what do I do? I like you too much,” convey the complexity of her emotional journey.

The album’s tracklist, unveiled by the Colombian icon, promises exciting collaborations and solo performances, further fueling anticipation among fans. Collaborations on the album include artists like Cardi B, Rauw Alejandro, and Grupo Frontera.

A remix of Argentinian producer Bizarrap’s “Music Sessions Vol. 53” featuring Tiesto will also be included in the 17 track set.

Shakira tells Billboard, “Making this body of work has been an alchemical process,” Shakira previously said in a statement. “While writing each song, I was rebuilding myself. While singing them, my tears transformed into diamonds, and my vulnerability into strength.”
