Dancehall princess Shenseea continues to make moves in the music industry with a string of collabs recently.
Diania with Fireboy DML & Chris Brown debuted at No. 157 on Spotify’s R&B Global chart.
Her highest entry on Spotify’s charts was last year when her Kanye collab OK OK pt 2 went to number 5 globally and in Australia, number 4 on the Spotify US, Canada and Bulgaria Daily Charts, number 6 on the Daily UK and Daily Dubai Spotify charts, number 15 in Austria, number 11 in Belgium and a few other countries.
Sean Paul’s Cheap Thrills collab with Sia had previously peaked at No. 3 in 2016 on Spotify’s Global chart.
Shenseea’s other song Obsessed with Calvin Harris featuring Charlie Puth released by Atlantic and Columbia Records debuts at No. 71 on the U.K. Official Singles Chart.
Although Shenseea has done several tour dates in the U.K. and Europe over the years, Obsessed represents the dancehall Diva’s first U.K. singles chart entry. The song is from Calvin Harris’ album ‘Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 2’ album. It is written by Puth, Harris, Shenseea and her manager Dizzycleanface, Jesse Boykins III, Nathalia Marshall, Rachael Kennedy & Lance Shipp.
Shenseea joins Lady Saw as the only two Jamaican women to be nominated for an MTV Video Music Award. Saw, Now Marion Hall was nominated for Best Pop Video for her collab with No Doubt titled Underneath It All.
Bounty Killer, was nominated for Best Pop Video and Best Group Video in 2002 with No Doubt for Hey Baby, Sean Paul, was nominated for Best New Artist In A Video and Best Dance Video for Get Busy in 2003, and Best Dance Video for Temperature in 2006, Elephant Man, who was nominated for Pon Di River in 2004, and OMI, was nominated for Song Of The Summer for Cheerleader in 2015.
