Shenseea was spotted in studio with multi-platinum producer Sean “Diddy” Combs via an instagram post by the dancehall princess’s label A&R @Dizzycleanface.
Dizzy posted several pictures of the two in the recording booth with the caption:
“Sometimes you have to start over and come back harder @shenseea can’t stop won’t stop @diddy 🙏🏾”
An attentive Shenseea was seen focused on Diddy, as he seemingly guides her in the booth.
Shenseea was seen partying it up with Diddy who seem to be taking a keen interest in her career, at her album launch dinner party in Miami. She was doing Diddy’s signature bop as the classic Mary J Blige ‘Jumpin’ played in the club.
Shenseea took to Instagram to send thank you’s to the Bad Boy artist for helping her to celebrate her album launch in style.
“Thank you @diddy @ciroc @deleontequila 🔥 my release dinner was amazing #ALPHA big up to my team. Y’all make me a happy woman”
Both artist share a manager Wassim Sal Slaiby of XO management.
Puff has a rich history of working with Jamaican dancehall acts dating back to the beginning of his career.
He did a remix in the early 90s of ‘Dolly My Baby; a single off Super Cat’s Don Dada album which had Biggie Smalls. It was Biggie’s first major international single and it set the tone for Puff Daddy’s future career.
Super Cat encouraged Puffy in a 2016 interview that he should find more Jamaican artists and work with them. “Him need to check for some of them Jamaican youth and put some money in them pocket and sign some Jamaica youth and drop some of them million U.S. inna them pocket. ‘Cause he must remember that reggae take him off and put him in a rocket—and Dada never stop it. So Ispect it yunno,” he said in his usual Jamaican lungua.
With Shenseea trying to find a foot into the American market after a less than welcoming Billboard chart performance for her debut album, the I Need A Girl artist/producer may be able help her get over the hump.
